I have had the same ring and pinion, Richmond big pinion pro gear 4.56 ratio, in my 800 Hp 3150# door car for 11 years. I used Richmond/Torco 80-140 regular gear oil rated at GL-6. Reset back lash every 2 seasons. Wear was minimal. Switched to 75-90 synthetic oil and saw more wear in the pattern. Switched back to regular heavy oil.
