Sadly Portugal is not a clean country. Fly tipping is endemic, cans, bottles and building materials litter the countryside. I gave never seen a grey, brown or red bin. I know of only one supermarket where I can dispose of batteries. I cannot dispose of used oil or food waste. The recycling bins nearby have been removed so I have to walk further.
